Let's Talk About Dreaming Big

Let's Talk About Dreaming Big

Have you ever been afraid to really let yourself dream? I know I have. There was a time when I was too scared to believe in things that seemed out of my reach. I’d think, “That’s too big for me. It’ll never happen.” And honestly, the moment I thought that way, I’d already decided the outcome—it wasn’t going to happen.

There’s a verse in Scripture that says, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). That hit me. If we think something is impossible, we’re basically speaking it into our lives—it becomes our truth. But what if we flipped that thinking and let ourselves dream big, trusting that what seems impossible to us isn’t impossible with God?

That’s why the Master Goals List in your Virtuous Living Planner by Lisa Michele is so important. It’s not just about writing down goals; it’s about giving yourself permission to believe in things that feel bigger than you. The Master Goals List is your personal space to dream big and outline all the things you would like to accomplish within the year.

How to Fill Out Your Master Goals List

1. Find Your Quiet Space

Start by carving out some time for yourself in a calm, distraction-free spot. Take a deep breath and remind yourself: This is my time to dream. Nothing is off-limits.  Listen for God's direction.

2. Let Your Mind Wander

Grab a pen and let your imagination take over. Think about every area of your life—personal, professional, health, relationships, finances, hobbies. What do you want to see happen this year? Don’t hold back or worry if it seems too big. Just get it on the page.

3. Break It Down

• Personal: Maybe you’ve always wanted to pick up a new hobby or focus on self-care. Write it down.

• Career: Is there a promotion or career shift you’ve been eyeing?

• Health: Want to feel stronger, healthier, or more energetic?

• Relationships: How can you pour into the people who matter most to you?

• Finances: Are there dreams tied to financial freedom? Saving? Giving?

4. Narrow Your Focus

After your brainstorm, go back and look at your list. Group similar ideas together and pick out your top priorities. Think about what’s realistic and meaningful, but don’t shy away from things that feel ambitious.

5. Give Your Goals a Timeline

Break them into steps. Which ones can you work on right now? Which will take a few months—or even all year? Set timeframes to keep yourself moving forward.

A Reminder as You Plan

This list is about you. There’s no right or wrong. It’s about embracing the freedom to believe, dream, and take action. And if you ever feel doubt creeping in, remember this: Nothing is too big when you’re walking in purpose and faith.

So grab your planner and start dreaming big—you’re worth it!
